‘Through Our Eyes’ art show at Rawlings Library
100 E. Abriendo Ave. | 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Thursday | Kids Crossing is hosting the Foster Care Art Show featuring work by foster youth, foster families, foster parents, caseworkers, therapists, and home coordinators which will be on exhibit through June 30.
An unidentified Pueblo foster child shows a painting entitled, “Breathe into my lungs and give me life,” which will be on display at the “Through their Eyes,” art exhibit at Rawlings Library.
Art is a safe environment to express traumatic issues, especially for children in the foster care system, who may not have the ability to talk about what they are going through. Art can also help build self-esteem and problem-solving skills, strengthen relationships, and improve social skills at the same time.

132 W. B St. | 10 a.m.-2 p.m. | In honor of Father’s Day take a ride in the engine for $15 or one of the three cabooses for $10. Children 2 and younger ride free. Cash or check is preferred, but credit cards are accepted. Purchase tickets at the gift shop, a converted caboose behind the depot. Trains depart every 20 minutes, so there will be multiple opportunities during the event to ride the train.
