Editor’s note: Deion Sanders has since denied making these alleged comments.

Deion Sanders has been very open about a desire to see his son, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, land in a team-friendly situation once he arrives in the NFL.

Sanders has not ruled out pulling an Eli Manning and essentially preventing Shedeur from playing for a certain team, although he has stopped short of naming his blacklist publicly. On the other hand, he’s far less shy about revealing his destination preferences.

Speaking at the 2025 ProMat biennial trade fair and conference in Chicago, Sanders openly tipped his hand.

This is not the first time Sanders has connected Shedeur to the New York Giants. In December, he claimed to have some insight into the team’s draft day thinking and punctuated it as a known “fact.”

Meanwhile, the Giants reportedly followed Shedeur around the country this past season, scouting him at every single Colorado game. He is also scheduled to have a top-30 visit with the team in East Rutherford.

The Giants seem like a logical match for Sanders, especially if they are unable to secure the No. 1 overall pick via trade, but there is some skepticism. Although most mocks have Shedeur landing with the Giants, some people around the league are beginning to think general manager Joe Schoen & Co. will pass on a quarterback with the third overall pick entirely.

Deion is obviously hoping for something different.
