BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins men’s swimming team placed four swimmers on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team it was announced recently. The four selections are the maximum as each team is limited to four nominees. Select All-District nominees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
 
To be eligible for CCS Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be a sophomore or above and must compete in five competitions OR finish top-eight at a conference meet.
 
Johns Hopkins 2024-25 Academic All-District selections:
 
Joe Castagno (Sr.)
Major: Computer Science, Applied Math & Statistics
• Three-time All-American
• Two-time CSC Academic All-District
• Holds JHU pool record in 200 Breast
• Fourth fastest performer in 400 IM in program history
• Fifth fastest performer in 200 Breast and 200 IM in program history
 
Avery Clapp (Jr.)
Major: Computer Science, Economics
• 18-time All-American
• 2025 NCAA Runner-up in 200 Back
• School record holder in 200 Back, 200 Fly
• Holds freshman record in 200 Back, 100 Fly, 200 Fly
• Boasts five fastest times in JHU history in 200 Back and seven fastest in 200 Fly
 
Matthew Hartshorn (Jr.)
Major: Mechanical Engineering
• Three-time All-American
• JHU record holder in 400 IM
• Boasts three fastest times in JHU history in 400 IM
• Holds JHU freshman record in 400 IM
• Two-time CSCAA Scholar All-American
 
Bryce Lloyd (Jr.)
Major: Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering
• Six-time All-American
• Two-time CSC Academic All-District
• Fourth fastest performer in 200 Back in program history
• Member of pool record 400 Medley Relay team
• Member of 400 Medley Relay team with 10 fastest time in JHU history
