PITTSFIELD TWP., MI — A Washtenaw County judge declined to lower the bond for a man accused of shooting and injuring three people, despite claims doing so was self-defense.

Phillip Meon Brown, 53, was charged with three counts of assault with intent to murder, one count of assault to do great bodily harm less than murder and six related weapons charges in connection with a shooting Jan. 14 at an Ypsilanti-area apartment complex. He was set to have a preliminary examination Tuesday, April 1, before 14B District Judge Erane Washington, but it was adjourned at the last minute so an involved attorney could review evidence, according to statements made in court.
