LOSTANT, Ill. (WMBD) — A man is dead after a Bicycle vs. Vehicle crash near Illinois Route 251 and North 16th Road in LaSalle County on Sunday.
According to the Illinois State Police, deputies responded to the crash sometime after 6:03 p.m. Both the car and bicycle were heading south on Illinois Route 251 when the car allegedly struck the bicycle.

The bicyclist, a 46-year-old man from Lasalle, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver and passenger in the vehicle did not report any injuries.
The LaSalle County Coroner Richard Ploch identified the bicyclist as Jacob Crouch. Ploch said Crouch was declared dead at OSF ST. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Peru at 6:52 p.m. on Sunday.
This incident remains under investigation.
