JAMMU, Apr 27: The Gymnastic Federation of India is abuzz with pride as two of its promising gymnasts, Rudraksh Khanna and Muthum Romesh, delivered outstanding performances at the Suzuki Aerobics Gymnastics World Cup 2025 held in Japan. Organized by the Federation Internationale de Gymnastics (FIG) and the International Aerobics Federation, the prestigious event saw participation from 19 countries. Rudraksh Khanna, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, secured an impressive 4th place in the Youth Individual Men category finals, while Muthum Romesh finished 6th in the Junior Individual Men category finals, showcasing India’s growing talent on the global stage.
The athletes were appreciated by Sudhir Mittal, President of the Gymnastics Federation of India; Kaushik and other officials from the Sports Authority of India; and Kiran Wattal, President of the Gymnastic Association of Jammu and Kashmir and Vice President of the Gymnastics Federation of India. Kiran Wattal credited the achievements to the significant support provided by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, Commissioner/Secretary Youth Services and Sports Sarmad Hafeez, and Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gul. He also acknowledged the liberal funding from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Government that helped establish state-of-the-art training infrastructure. The six-member Indian team was accompanied by coaches and officials Dr. Makarand Joshi and Yamanam Ranjan. Their performances mark a significant step forward for Indian gymnastics.
