With the 2024-2025 regular season done and dusted, women’s college basketball teams all around the country now turn their attention to conference tournaments in hopes of securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
The Southern Conference will hold its women’s basketball tournament this week. All eight teams from the conference will head to Harrah’s Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina, in hopes of being named the Southern Conference tournament champion.
Slotted as the top seed is UNC Greensboro, which finished the regular season at 22-6 overall and 13-1 in the conference. The Spartans also enter the tournament on an 11-game win streak. UNC Greensboro will face No. 8 Western Carolina on Thursday.
Chattanooga (14-13; 9-5 SoCon), ETSU (17-12; 8-6 SoCon) and Wofford (16-11; 8-6 SoCon) round out the rest of the top 4 seeds.
