WALDORF, Md. — A new venue, World Class Billiard Room, is set to open at 2720 Crain Highway following the approval of an extension for its Class B/T (Tavern) Beer, Wine & Liquor (on-sale) alcoholic beverage license by the Charles County Board of License Commissioners on Feb. 13, 2025. The approval allows the business to move forward with final preparations, with an anticipated opening within the next 60 days.
Originally granted in August 2024, the business faced delays due to the landlord’s delayed turnover of the space. As of Jan. 29, 2025, the venue’s owners, siblings Aaron Hamm and Tracy Hamm-Simmons, have taken possession of the building and begun the buildout process. The business is now in the final stages of securing a use and occupancy permit and health permit before officially opening.
During an Aug. 8, 2024, meeting of the Board of License Commissioners, Hamm described the venue as an upscale, over-21 multi-table billiards room designed to cater to the community. The space will also host American Pool Association (APA) leagues, special events, and tournaments. The goal is to establish the venue as a hub for league play and competitive events.
“Congrats on getting the space and buildout quick,” said Kathleen Quade, chairperson of the Board of License Commissioners, during the Feb. 13 meeting.
Attorney David Martinez represented the business at the hearing, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The license approval remains contingent on finalizing the necessary permits, which are expected to be completed soon.
The original public hearing notice for the Class B/T (Tavern) Beer, Wine & Liquor (on-sale) alcoholic beverage license with entertainment was published on Aug. 8, 2024.
Currently, World Class Billiard Room does not have an official website or social media presence.
