CHEROKEE, Iowa (KCAU) — Cherokee’s volleyball team qualified for state, and a local business is raising funds to help with expenses.
Chuy’s Taqueria & Mexican Foods will donate a percentage of its sales to help cover travel expenses for Cherokee High School’s volleyball team as they compete and represent the Cherokee community. This is the first time the establishment has undertaken such an initiative since its inception, and they believe this is the best way to show support for the community.

“We want to involve with the community,” said Danny Borjas, the owner of Chuy’s. “Why not support one of our own? You know, like the volleyball teams, we found out they made it to state, so why not try to get involved with them as well?”
The final day of the fundraiser ends on November 3.
