WAKEFIELD — For the 14th year in a row, Wakefield Elementary School students participated in Jump Rope for Heart sponsored by the American Heart Association. The event was held in conjunction with the jump rope unit in physical education class.
Jordan McIntyre from Cindy Wagoner’s second-grade class was the top fundraiser with $300.
The American Heart Association will use the $3,919 raised in the event to help children and their families cover their medical costs due to heart-related issues.
The donations also provided $200 in free P.E. equipment for Wakefield Elementary.
