HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — A local pool hall venue in Dauphin County recently acquired a long-time bar & grill, with plans to transform it into its new home.

HoHo’s Billiards, currently located at 891 Eisenhower Boulevard in Harrisburg, is owned and operated by Dauphin County natives Holly Robertson and Michael Hodge, who first opened their pool hall venue back in May 2023.

Earlier this month, on August 18, the owners announced on Facebook that they acquired the former Rod’s Roadhouse, which is situated just down the road at 1031 Eisenhower Boulevard in Harrisburg.

According to Robertson, Hodge, and her plan on converting the former Rod’s Roadhouse location into the new home of what will be called HoHo’s Billiards & Lounge.

Robertson says they decided to acquire this new location because their current space just isn’t big enough to keep up with demand. Furthermore, the owners have found themselves in situations where they have had to turn away events due to the lack of space.

For reference, HoHo’s Billiards currently occupies a 4,000 square foot space that features 10 pool tables for players to utilize and seating for about 60 guests.

Once renovations are complete, the former Rod’s Roadhouse will give them approximately 8,500 square feet of space after they finish constructing a new pool hall building at the back of the property.

In turn, this will allow HoHo’s Billiards to double the number of pool tables to 20 in order to accommodate more players and bigger tournaments, and give them seating for at least 100 guests.

This new location will also give HoHo’s Billiards more lounge-style seating, an event stage, a bar, and a patio area. Robertson says this lounge experience will help them to live up to their motto, which is “fun.”

In addition to the increased space for pool tables and guest seating, the new location also features a larger kitchen area, which the owners plan on utilizing to expand their current full BBQ menu.

Specifically, Robertson says they would like to add fries and more appetizer options to the menu upon relocating.

Currently, the owners are hoping to move into the new location in November 2025, pending any delays.

Once open, they expect their hours of operation to be seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; however, they may expand their hours to stay open later.
