FINAL RESULTS
NORMAL, Ill. —
It just got better each day for the Albion women’s golf team.
During the first round at the IWU Fall Classic at Ironwood Golf Club, the Britons set the team 18-hole record with 322 strokes and placing 13th.
The second round proved to bode even better, as they bested that record with a score of 314 and finished six spots ahead of their initial performance while finishing with lower scores than eight top-100 nationally-ranked teams.
For good measure, the 636-stroke total was the best 36-hole total in program history as well.
Aubrie Schaibly led the Britons all weekend, as she finished tied for 15th with 154 strokes (78, 76), which set the new program individual 36-hole record. The 76 in the second round was a career best for the sophomore after topping her low round from the first day.
Her freshman sister, Anna, tied for 18th and shot a two-day total of 155 (80, 75). The 75 also tied for the lowest round in Albion history.
Taylore Wilson (161) posted a career-low 79 in Round 2 and an 81 in Round 1, while Payton LaRowe (166) posted an 82 and 84, respectively.
Julia Sambaer (170) and Marissa Genske (177) rounded out the field for the Britons.
