HONOLULU — The University of Hawai’i women’s volleyball team will face Big Ten power Wisconsin in an island-hopping series on March 25 and 26 to close out its spring schedule.
The Rainbow Wahine and Badgers open the series on Tuesday, March 25 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. Hawai’i Time. The teams will then head to Kaua’i for the rematch on Wednesday, March 26 at Kaua’i High School in Lihue. The teams will participate in a keiki clinic prior to their match scheduled for 1 p.m.

HAWAI’I RAINBOW WAHINE (2024: 21-10, 13-5 Big West)

- The Rainbow Wahine return eight letterwinners from last season’s 21-10 team that captured a Big West title for the fifth straight year by winning the Hawaiian Islands presents the 2024 Outrigger Big West Championship.
- UH won the tournament title for the second straight year to earn the program’s 31st consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 42nd overall.
- UH returns four starters in middle blocker Miliana Sylvester, outside hitters Tali Hakas and Stella Adeyemi and defensive specialist Victoria Leyva.
- Sophomore Adrianna Arquette started both matches at setter in UH’s spring series with Arizona State on March 10 and 11 and shared playing time with transfer Audrey Hollis, one of five newcomers to the roster in the spring semester.
- Freshman Cha’lei Reid led the Rainbow Wahine with eight kills in both matches against Arizona State. Lois Hansen, a transfer from UC Santa Barbara, also had eight kills in the opener with ASU.
- UH associate coach Kaleo Baxter is a graduate of Kaua’i High School and will return to his home island for Wednesday’s match.

- Wisconsin went 26-7 overall in 2024 and placed seventh in the final AVCA/Taraflex Division I poll.
- The Badgers finished third in the Big Ten and was a No. 2 regional seed in the NCAA Tournament. They advanced to the regional finals before falling to Nebraska.
- Wisconsin’s group of six returnees includes setter Charlie Fuerbringer, an AVCA All-America third-team selection last season.
- The Badgers added five newcomers to the roster this spring, including transfers Mimi Colyer (Oregon) and Grace Lopez (Miami). Both were AVCA All-America Honorable Mention picks in 2024.
- Kelly Sheffield is entering his 13th season as Wisconsin’s head coach and has led the Badgers to five Final Fours, including a run to the 2021 NCAA Championship.
