LASALLE COUNTY (25News Now) – A 46-year-old LaSalle man was killed Sunday night when a car struck the bicycle he was riding near Lostant.
Illinois State Police said the man was riding his bike in the southbound lane of Illinois Route 251, near 16th Road, north of Lostant. He was hit by a Cadillac CTS traveling in the same direction shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday, according to police.
LaSalle County Coroner Richard Ploch said Jacob Crouch was pronounced dead about 6:50 p.m. at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Peru.
The driver of the car, a 35-year-old Lostant man, and a juvenile passenger were not injured, according to State Police.
The coroner said an autopsy for Crouch was scheduled on Monday.
State Police did not say if troopers issued any citations.
